Review: Paris Metro Couture, Ascot Flower

Today's review is of a new summer release by Paris Zsun of Paris METRO Couture, a studio which has been in SL for awhile now, but is becoming more prominent every day.  The outfit in question is one of their newer releases, Ascot Flower, which features a sleeveless blouse with matching glitch pants, a flexi-prim skirt, and a sculpted top hat with flowers and scarves flowing from it, all brought together in a very fanciful and whimsical way.

This outfit is absolutely cute, especially with the hat, which seems to make it.  Some people may be put off at first by the hat, but they quickly find its whimsical charm to win them over quickly.  It is reminiscent of a feminine version of Alice in Wonderland, where Alice could have been the hatter as well.

This outfit is perfect for any afternoon social event, whether it be a tea party, garden club, or book club, and could be adapted for early evening events as well, or other special occasions.  The texture chosen is very soft and feminine, as is the traditional top hat that accompanies the ensemble.  The hat has very soft, feminine edges with several flowers around its rim.  The flexiprims of the hat and skirt move softly and delicately with  your avatar's movements.  The skirt and hat also have a high level of detail, with a lot of attention paid to both by the creator.

There are only two suggestions for this ensemble that will help it greatly.  The first is that the outfit comes as no mod and no copy in general.  The hat and skirt are still modifiable, but they are not copyable.  The second is that, even though the texture is gorgeous, it needs to be broken up by something other than just your avatar's own features.  As beautiful as this is, it also begs for one of the colors in a solid block to give it contrast and bring out the features of the main texture used.

Overall:  7.5 8/10

Pros:  Beautiful texture, whimsical detail, versatile

Cons:  Texture needs to be broken up a bit, outfit is no copy

Edited to Add... (June 20th, 2012):  Looking back at this review, which in essence was our first review written we are changing our rating on this outfit.  Our new Overall: 8/10.
