Mini Review: LoveCats Designs, Titania

Today's mini-review is of "Titania," today's feature outfit at LoveCats Designs.  The design, named for the queen of the fairies, combines a rich red dress with flamenco undertones with rich gorgeously textured fae wings, ballet shoes, and an organic tiara made of roses.  I picked this one up a few weeks back because it was an outfit that intrigued me.

Ms. Thei describes the outfit as, "Elegant, lovely and mystical... named for the queen of the fairies... Titania is on sale for half off today- only 250L. This gorgeous red gown comes with lace up stockings, ballet shoes, prim sleeves, floral garland bracelet and headdress, and the most stunning matching wings. Don't miss it!"

Overall the outfit works well.  The wings are exquisite.  I've seen other pieces that Ms. Thei has created that have wings, and they are works of art no matter what.  I've seen wings from Material Squirrel that cannot compete with Ms. Thei's designs.  The texturing in the dress is beautiful and the sleeves flow well.  The rose headdress that come with it is absolutely gorgeous.

The only thing that does not work as well for me is the skirt.  While I like that the skirt is full, flows well, and has a great texture, it either needs to be fuller with extra prims filling in the gaps or  have the texture be tapered on the ends of the prims.  However, doing either would also create problems with alpha glitches with the wings, so in a way, the designer skirt is the best solution to that.

I do think however that this is part of Ms. Thei's signatures as she has taken a piece that has influences from haute couture, fae, and neko fashions in SL.  Ms. Thei is the only couture designer in SL that is able to combine these influences and that is able to work with these genres of fashion.  While I prefer a skirt to be slightly different in style, taking the influences into consideration, there were few other ways to work with this skirt.

Stylings:
Outfit:  LoveCats Designs, Titania, regular L$500, today L$250
Hair:  CatWa, Suzan Black-White for L$250
Skin:  Chaisuki, Vienna 14 Nougat for L$1389
Makeup:  Chaisuki, Paris 01 Nougat for L1389; Chaisuki, Vienna 18 Nougat for L$1389

(Very Mini Review - Chaisuki skins are great because they come with additional skin and makeup options.  Though the cost may seem steep as compared to other skin makers out there, you get at minimum three extra lipsticks, three teeth options, tan options, two facelights, alternative breasts, and pubic hair.  Plus the styling is perfect and needs no touch-ups in photographs.  Chaisuki skins are my usual go-to when I need something to look great without trying.  We also tend to use skins from NOYA and Al Vulo just as much.)

Overall: 9/10

Pros:  Great design, great ability to transverse styles

Cons:  Skirt needs to be tweaked a bit
